IN MEMORIAM
MARY E. GOLDMANN
Mary E. Goldmann, professor emeritus of human ecology,
died on September 18, 1996. She was 91.
Professor Goldmann was born on May 24, 1905, in Austin,
Texas. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The University
of Texas at Austin in 1925 and 1929, respectively. She later pursued
more studies at Columbia University and Iowa State College.
Professor Goldmann joined the faculty of UT Austin in
1941 and taught until 1970, when she retired. In addition to teaching
home economics, she instructed home demonstration agents and high school
teachers in meal preparation time-saving tools.
Professor Goldmann published two editions of
the textbook Planning and Serving Your Meals.
