IN MEMORIAM
KENNETH K. HUR
Kenneth Kyoon Hur, associate professor of radio-television-film,
died on April 4, 1984. He was 41.
Professor Hur was born on March 30, 1943, in Seoul,
Korea. He was educated at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, where he
received his bachelor's degree in 1965. He earned his master's degree
from San Francisco State University in 1972. He was awarded a PhD from
the University of Oregon in 1975.
Professor Hur worked as a reporter for The Hankook
Ilbo and The Korea Times, San Francisco bureau. He was also
a producer and director for the Korean language radio program on KBRG-AM
in San Francisco.
Dr. Hur joined the faculty of The University of Texas
at Austin in 1978 after teaching at Cleveland State University. His
fields of specialization at the University included mass communication
theory and research, ethnic minority communication, and political communication.
