WILLIAM R. LLOYD
William R. Lloyd, retired associate professor of pharmacy, died on January 30, 1983. He was 69.
Professor Lloyd was born on September 26, 1913, in Pueblo, Colorado. He earned bachelor's degrees at the University of Colorado in 1934 and 1936, respectively, a master's degree from the University of North Carolina in 1938, and a PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1941.
Dr. Lloyd taught at the University of Georgia and Duquesne University. He also worked as a biochemist for the Armour Research Foundation. He joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 1949, where he taught until 1962, when he joined the Texas Pharmacal Company. He served as chief of production at Pharmacal, retiring in 1977.
Professor Lloyd published in several journals, including American Pharmacy, Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, and Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the American Oil Chemists' Society.
