IN MEMORIAM
GRANVILLE PRICE
Granville Price, onetime associate professor
of journalism, died on May 2, 1974. He was 67.
Professor Price was born on May 25,
1906, in Dodge, Texas. He received bachelor's and master's degrees from
The University of Texas at Austin in 1926 and 1930, respectively. He
served as editor of the Daily Texan.
He joined the faculty of the University
in 1936 and taught until 1953. As the advisor to the Daily Texan,
he guided the newspaper to twelve consecutive Pacemaker awards, which
recognized outstanding college newspapers.
Professor Price was a member of the
American Association of Teachers of Journalism.
