IN MEMORIAM

WILFRED H. WATSON

Wilfred H. Watson, retired associate professor emeritus of management, died on March 30, 1997. He was 79.

Professor Watson was born on April 21, 1917, in Newcastle, Texas. He earned bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in 1941, 1950, and 1959, respectively.

Dr. Watson joined the faculty of the University in 1947 and taught for 35 years, until his retirement in 1982. He specialized in industrial relations, organizational behavior and theory, and personnel administration. He served as associate dean of the College of Business Administration, where he also directed the Texas Executive Development Program.

Professor Watson served as a consultant to business, industry, and government. He was also active as a member of the Texas Personnel and Management Association and the American Management Association.
