D 1122 Proposal to Create a Two-Day Fall Break. Posted on the Faculty Council web site on February 13, 2001. The recommendation was presented to the Faculty Council for discussion at its meeting on February 19, 2001. The Faculty Council defeated the motion to approve this legislation by voice vote on March 19, 2001.

D&P 16517-16519 Recommendation for a Change in Regents' Rules Concerning Suspension of a Faculty Member with Pay. Approved by the Faculty Council at its meeting on December 8, 1997, and transmitted to the president on December 9, 1997. Transmitted to the chancellor by the president on January 20, 1999, with these comments: "This legislation was discussed among my office, the Office of the Provost, and members of the Faculty Council Executive Committee. It puts into the Regents' Rules what has been the practice at The University of Texas at Austin. Confidential consultation with a faculty committee regarding a possible suspension is guaranteed, but the final determination is made by the president. This process has worked well on our campus. I recommend your favorable consideration of the proposed change."

D 1202-1203 Tuition Remission for Graduate Research Assistants. Posted on the Faculty Council web site on March 12, 2001. The Faculty Council will consider the legislation at its meeting on April 16, 2001.

D 1220-12222 Proposal to Increase Student Involvement in the Hiring Process of Tenure-Track Faculty, - Amended March 19, 2001. Posted on the Faculty Council web site on March 7, 2001. The original recommendation was presented to the Faculty Council for discussion at its meeting on February 19, 2001 (See D 1123-1124). A revised proposal (D 1189-1191) was discussed at the Council meeting on March 19, 2001, and a motion to amend the revised proposal was approved by voice vote. The Faculty Council will act on the amended proposal on April 16, 2001.
