PROPOSED CHANGES CONCERNING THE RED MCCOMBS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS IN THE GRADUATION SECTION OF THE UNIVERSITY CHAPTER OF THE UNDERGRADUATE CATALOG, 2000-2002

In Chapter 1, on page 18, in the section GRADUATION, under the heading GRADUATION UNDER A CATALOG, make the following changes:

Red McCombs School of Business. A business student [outside the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA)] may graduate under the catalog covering any academic year in which he or she was enrolled at the University. [If the student submits a request to follow the degree requirements in a catalog other than the one covering the first year he or she was enrolled at the University, the student may not later request graduation under an earlier catalog.] A business honors student who adds a second business major must graduate under the same catalog for both majors.

[PPA students must graduate under the catalog in effect when they enter the PPA.]

Whichever catalog the student chooses, all degree requirements must be completed within six years of the end of the two-year period covered by the catalog. For example, a student who chooses to graduate according to the requirements in the 2000-2002 catalog must do so by the end of the summer session 2008.

Rationale: The McCombs School of Business is dropping their policy which limits the students' ability to change catalogs to become consistent with the catalog policies of the other undergraduate programs at UT.
