PROPOSED CHANGE IN THE FINE ARTS REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS IN THE COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS CHAPTER OF THE UNDERGRADUATE CATALOG, 2004-2006

On page 200, in the section ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION, under the heading REGISTRATION, in the College of Fine Arts chapter of The Undergraduate Catalog, 2002-2004 add the following.

FINE ARTS REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

DEPARTMENT OF ART AND ART HISTORY

Unless otherwise noted in the catalog or Course Schedule, all studio art courses are restricted to majors in the Department of Art and Art history.

A student majoring in studio art must have a grade point average of at least 2.50 in all lower-division studio art courses to register for upper-division studio art courses.

Rationale: To clarify to prospective and non-major students that they must be admitted officially to a major in the Department of Art and Art History to enroll in these classes, since registration in these classes is restricted to departmental majors.
