MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE GENERAL FACULTY
FOR 2003-2004
The regular meeting of the General Faculty for the academic
year 2003-2004 was held on Monday, October 20, 2003, at 3:00 P.M. in
the Texas Union Theatre. President Larry R. Faulkner presided.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the General Faculty for 2002-2003,
October 15, 2002, were approved (D
2193-2194).

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE FACULTY COUNCIL, 2002-2003.
There was no discussion on the report, which was published as D 2618-2641.

DISCUSSION OF ANNUAL REPORT — None.

IV. |
COMMENTS BY AND QUESTIONS TO THE PRESIDENT.
There were no questions. Following recent practice, the President’s
State of the University Address was given as part of the University’s
anniversary celebration, UT@120 on October 7, 2003. The address is
reproduced in D
2797-2803.

REPORTS OF THE GENERAL FACULTY, COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS, AND COMMITTEES.

Committee to Nominate a Candidate for Secretary of the
General Faculty.
Professor Michael Granof (accounting), past chair of the Faculty
Council and chair of the nominating committee, nominated Sue
A. Greninger, associate professor, human ecology.
Also serving on the committee were Randy Diehl (psychology),
Christine Marcin (president’s office), Alba Ortiz (special
education), and Shelley Payne (molecular genetics microbiology
and immunology).

Election of the Secretary of the General Faculty.
Professor Greninger was elected to serve for the calendar year
2004.
