MEETING OF
MAY 10, 2004
The
first meeting of the voting members of the 2004-2005 Faculty
Council was held in Room 212 of the Main Building on Monday,
May 10, 2004, at 2:15 p.m. Linda Reichl (physics), chair of
the 2004-2005 Council, presided.

OF THE COMMITTEE TO NOMINATE FACULTY COUNCIL OFFICERS
FOR 2004-2005 (D

Chair
Linda Reichl reported that the nominating committee was
composed of the members of the 2003-2004 Faculty Council
Executive Committee: Kenneth Flamm (LBJ School of Public
Affairs), Michael H. Granof (accounting), Peter F. Green
(chemical engineering), Sue A. Greninger (human ecology),
Marvin L. Hackert (chemistry and biochemistry), Archie
L. Holmes (electrical and computer engineering), and Paul
B. Woodruff (philosophy).
Chair
Reichl called on each candidate to make a brief statement
before the vote, which was by secret ballot.

of the chair elect.
Gerard H. Béhague
(music) and Alba A. Ortiz (special education). There
were no other nominees. Professor Ortiz was elected.

Election
to the Executive Committee of a member from the Faculty
Advisory Committee on Budgets.
The committee nominated Jacqueline L. Angel (LBJ School
of Public Affairs) and Jeanne H. Freeland-Graves (human
ecology). There were no other nominees. Professor Angel
was elected.

Election
to the Executive Committee of a member from the Educational
Policy Committee.
The
committee nominated Archie L. Holmes (electrical
and computer engineering) and Paul B. Woodruff (philosophy).
There were no other nominees. Professor Holmes was
elected.

Election
to the Executive Committee of a member from the Faculty
Welfare Committee.
The
committee nominated Kenneth Flamm (LBJ School of
Public Affairs) and Martha F. Hilley (music). There
were no other nominees. Professor Hilley was elected.

The meeting adjourned at 2:30 P.M.
