CANCELLATION OF THE FACULTY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 17, 2005

The Executive Committee of the Faculty Council has cancelled the October 17 meeting of the Faculty Council. The cancellation decision was made because (1) the only agenda item for consideration was the report and recommendations from the ad hoc Course-Instructor Survey Committee and (2) individuals important to the discussion of this item could not be present on October 17 due to scheduling conflicts.

William Powers, Jr., chair of the Task Force on Curriculum Reform and dean of the School of Law, will present an overview of the task force’s recommendations at the annual General Faculty meeting on Thursday, October 27, at 2:15 p.m. President Faulkner will be presiding at this meeting, and both he and Council Chair Alba Ortiz are urging all Faculty Council members to make every effort to attend. Since recommendations from this task force will begin appearing on the Council agenda in November, it is especially important that Faculty Council members hear Dean Powers’ presentation on October 27.
