GENERAL FACULTY RULES COMMITTEE PROPOSAL TO CHANGE THE FUNCTION STATEMENT OF THE FACULTY WELFARE COMMITTEE

Motion: The General Faculty Rules Committee unanimously recommends that the function statement of the Faculty Welfare Committee be revised to read as follows (additions are underlined/bolded and deletions are crossed out):
FUNCTION: 1) To advise the president on all matters pertaining to faculty welfare[.], and 2) to monitor and evaluate implementation of all legislation pertaining to faculty welfare.

Background and Rationale:
This proposal originated from Martha Hilley, chair of the 2006-07 Faculty Welfare Committee. Both the Faculty Welfare Committee and the president's office see a faculty benefit from a more specific function statement.
