NOTICE OF NO-PROTEST PROCEDURE FOR NATURAL SCIENCE REQUIREMENT OF THE CORE CURRICULUM FOR ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT UT AUSTIN (D 5189-5190)
To: Voting Members of the General Faculty From: Sue Alexander Greninger, Secretary Subject: Curricular Reform Motion Regarding the Natural Science Core Requirement for All Undergraduate Students at UT Austin Date: February 5, 2007
This notice is to inform you of your opportunity to either accept (by taking no action) or to protest (as described below) the legislation concerning the natural science requirement of the core curriculum for all undergraduate students at UT Austin, which was passed unanimously by the Faculty Council on January 22, 2007. Because the proposal is classified as major legislation, it must, according to the by-laws of the Council, be submitted to the General Faculty on a no-protest basis. The proposal (D 5189-5190), as approved by the Faculty Council, can be viewed online at the following URL: http://igoto.co.uk/9q2.
The legislation will be submitted to the president for approval as General Faculty legislation unless protests are received by the secretary from 25 voting members of the General Faculty by 5:00 p.m. February 16, 2007. If sufficient protests are received, a special meeting of the General Faculty will be called within thirty days to discuss the legislation for potential vote.
