I protest very strongly for the following reasons

1) I object to centralized control of the curriculum. I think curriculum should be the sole responsibility of the faculty in each department.

2) I have had a major role in the accreditation process in our department, which we will continue to do. It an extremely expensive undertaking, and I think the resources can be better applied. Having to do it twice will diminish quality of our program.

3) I think the idea of the core classes is really bad. Quality comes from relevance, accountability and choice.
