Faculty Building Advisory Committee

The Faculty Building Advisory Committee (FBAC) has met eight times thus far during the academic year. All members of the committee are gratefully acknowledged for their commitment of time and energy to the activities of the committee during the year.

Committee Activities:
  • Campus Accessibility. FBAC working together with Campus Facilities and Planning is evaluating standards for the distribution of lactation rooms, unisex and/or American Disabilities Act restrooms in campus buildings. Recommendations were made to Facilities and Space Council to convert a number of existing single stall restrooms to unisex restrooms. A private single stall provides easier access for mobility-impaired individuals and a more private restroom environment for individuals dealing with sensitive health/medical issues.
  • Construction Projects. The FBAC continues to consult on and monitor many campus projects including: Speedway Chilling Station; Dell Computer Science Hall, which is in the planning stages; LBJ Library Plaza restoration, which is in the planning phase; Executive Education and Conference Center, which is construction; Experimental Science Building, which is in the planning stages; Student Activity Center, which is in the planning phase; North End Zone project, which is under construction; Fire and Life Safety projects for residence halls that are underway or in the planning phase.
