Admissions and Registration Committee

The committee addressed no actionable items during this academic year.
The committee discussed:
1) The state “Recommended High School Curriculum” and how it will be presented in the materials provided by the Office of Admissions to prospective first-year students
2) The state Q-drop limit and how it will be implemented
3) Official transcript recognition for certificate programs
4) Migration of application for admission deadline from February 1st to January 15th for 2009 and January 1st for 2010
5) the problems and difficulties of the admissions for fall 2008. Noted were the increased percentage of HB 588 (Top 10%) admits, the increase in offers for summer admission, and the increase in offers for the Coordinated Admissions Program (CAP).


Recommendations for consideration by the next committee:
1) Make a recommendation for official transcript recognition of approved certification programs
2) Make a recommendation for official transcript recognition of approved minors
3) Make a recommendation regarding the appropriate role of an academic advisor in auditing a student’s eligibility for the “Be on Time” loans and Tuition Rebates
