ANNUAL REPORT OF THE FACULTY COUNCIL FOR 2009-2010
In accordance with the rules of the General Faculty, as set forth in the UT Austin Handbook of Operating Procedures, the secretary of the Faculty Council submits to the General Faculty the following report on the work of the Faculty Council from September 1, 2009, through August 31, 2010.
Beginning September 2000, all documents of the Faculty Council and General Faculty, previously indexed in the Documents and Proceedings of the Faculty Council and in the Documents and Minutes of the General Faculty respectively, have been consolidated under one numbering system in the Documents of the General Faculty.
Page references in this report are to the Documents of the General Faculty. The documents are to be indexed at the end of each academic year and made available in bound volumes in the Office of the General Faculty, and the Barker Texas History Center.

MEMBERSHIP OF THE FACULTY COUNCIL.
For the academic year 2009-2010, the Faculty Council consisted of 111 members, classified as shown in the link above.
There were eight regular meetings in 2009-10 and two special meetings that were held on December 14, 2009, and May 10, 2010. The December 14 meeting was a specially called meeting since the regular December Faculty Council meeting had previously been announced as cancelled. The purpose of the special December meeting was to discuss developments in the University’s budget situation, particularly the announcement of the $2 million raise for the football coach and decide upon an appropriate response. There was no prepared agenda for this meeting. The regular meetings of the Faculty Council in June, July, and August were cancelled due to the limited nature of business in the summer.
The attendance record of individual members is given in the Appendix A of this report.
