REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE TO NOMINATE FACULTY MEMBERS FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE UNIVERSITY CO-OP BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Each spring, the chair of the Faculty Council appoints a committee to nominate a panel of three members of the General Faculty of The University of Texas at Austin for appointment to the University Co-op Board of Directors. The panel shall, upon approval by the Faculty Council, be transmitted to the president with the recommendation that he or she select one representative for appointment to the University Co-op Board of Directors. If the president declines or, because of rejection of the post by all nominees, is unable to appoint any of the nominees, the president may either request that the Council, through its committee, make additional nominations or invoke a different procedure for selecting the appointees as he may deem appropriate, provided that such different procedure shall include consultation with the Council’s committee before the president offers the appointment to any faculty member.

Accordingly, the Faculty Council committee (Dean Neikirk, chair) submits the nominations set forth below.

The present faculty composition of the University Co-op Board of Directors is as follows:

Michael H. Granof, professor, accounting (chair, term open)
Steven Goode, professor, law (term expires 2011)
Linda L. Golden, professor, marketing (term expires 2012)
Minette E. Drumwright, associate professor, advertising (term expires 2013)
Elizabeth Cullingford, professor, English (term expires 2014)

The panel of faculty being nominated for appointment in 2011 for a four-year term to the University Co-op Board of Directors is as follows:

Diana M. DiNitto, professor, social work
Thomas G. Palaima, professor, classics
Shelley M. Payne, professor, molecular genetics and microbiology
