RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THE BAN OF FIREARMS ON CAMPUS
On behalf of the Faculty Council Executive Committee, Dean Neikirk (professor, electrical and computer engineering and Faculty Council chair) submitted the following resolution regarding the ban of firearms on campus. The resolution was originally affirmed by the Faculty Council at its meeting on February 16, 2009, and is being submitted to the Faculty Council for reaffirmation at its meeting of February 14, 2011.

RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THE BAN OF FIREARMS ON CAMPUS
The Faculty Council at The University of Texas at Austin believes carrying firearms on the University campus by anyone other than law enforcement officers is detrimental to the safety of the students, faculty, and staff.
