Chair Neikirk called attention to the announcements and explained that the intent had been to hold the inaugural annual meeting of the School of Undergraduate Studies either immediately before or after the General Faculty meeting on a date for a regularly scheduled Faculty Council meeting in an effort to encourage attendance. In addition, the plan had been to have the Faculty Council’s annual picture taken on that same date just prior to the meetings. Because President Powers had to be away on important University business, the combined meeting plan had to be postponed; he said a new date for the postponed meetings was being sought but had not yet been scheduled.
