RESOLUTIONS.

D 8400 Resolution from the Faculty Council Executive Committee Regarding the Creation of College Tuition and Budget Advisory Committees. Posted on the Faculty Council website on September 15, 2010. Endorsed by the Faculty Council at its meeting on September 20, 2010. Transmitted to the president for his information on September 21, 2010. President Powers acknowledged receipt of the resolution on November 2, 2010. No further action is required.

D 8432 Faculty Council Executive Committee Resolution on University Budget Issues 10/25/10. Posted on the Faculty Council website on October 21, 2010. The Faculty Council the resolution at its meeting on October 25, 2010. Transmitted to the president on October 26, 2010. President Powers acknowledged receipt of the resolution on November 2, 2010. No further action is required.

D 8561 Resolution Reaffirming the Ban of Firearms on Campus. Posted on the Faculty Council website on February 1, 2011. The resolution (D 6849) was originally affirmed by the Faculty Council at its meeting on February 16, 2009. The reaffirmation was endorsed by the Faculty Council at its meeting of February 14, 2011, and was transmitted to the president for his information. On March 3, 2011, President Powers acknowledged receipt of the resolution. No further action is required.

D 8577 Resolution of Support for UT Chancellor Cigarroa's Letter on the Issue of Concealed Handguns on Campuses. Posted on the Faculty Council website on March 10, 2011. The secretary has classified this as general legislation. It will be considered by the Faculty Council at its meeting on March 21, 2011.. On March 22, 2011, the resolution was transmitted to the president for his information. No further action is required.

D 8631-8632 Resolutions on the Faculty’s Role in the UT Austin Budget Process. Posted on the Faculty Council website on April 5, 2011. The secretary has classified this item as general legislation. The resolution was originally scheduled to be presented to the Faculty Council at its meeting on April 11, 2011, but was postponed to May 9, 2011, due to lack of time. On May 9, 2011, the Faculty Council amended and then endorsed the resolution. It was transmitted to the president for his information on May 10, 2011. In a letter dated May 20, 2011, President Powers acknowledged receipt of the resolution stating “As we continue to evaluate the processes by which budget decisions are made, I will keep in mind the recommendations of the Faculty Council.”

D 8663 UT Austin Faculty Council Vote of Confidence in the President William Powers and his Administrative Team. Posted on the Faculty Council website on May 4, 2011. The secretary has classified this item as general legislation.On May 9, 2011, the Faculty Council approved the resolution. It was transmitted to the president for his information on May 10, 2011. In a letter dated May 20, 2011, President Powers acknowledged receipt of the resolution stating
I am sincerely grateful to the Faculty Council for this public expression of appreciation and gratitude, and I give my thanks to every Council member and all the goods folks in the Office of the Faculty Council for everything you do to promote, preserve, and uphold our constitutional mandate to be a "University of the first class."
