F. ITEMS REFERRED BY THE PRESIDENT TO THE PROVOST FOR REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION.

D 8624-8628 Proposed Revisions to UT Austin’s HOP 3.16 Threatened Faculty Retrenchment.Posted on the Faculty Council website on March 31, 2011. The secretary has classified this as emergency major legislation. The legislation was approved by the Faculty Council at its meeting on April 11, 2011, and then by the General Faculty on a no-protest basis on April 28, 2011. It was transmitted to the president on April 29, 2011. On April 29, 2011, the president’s office requested written recommendation regarding the legislation from Dr. Steven Leslie and Ms. Patricia Ohlendorf. Final approval resides with UT System. Notice of no protest can be found under D 8659.

D 8657-8658 Update to the Science and Technology Part I Core Curriculum Course Lists for the Undergraduate Catalog, 2010-2012. Posted on the Faculty Council website on April 19, 2011. The secretary has classified this proposal as general legislation. The proposed changes to the core course lists were reviewed and approved by UGSAC during its meetings on March 23, 2011. On April 18, 2011, the Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review recommended approval to the Faculty Council. On April 28, 2011, the Faculty Council approved this legislation on a no-protest basis. On April 29, 2011, the legislation was transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president. Final approval resides with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
