STATUS OF LEGISLATION APPROVED BY THE FACULTY COUNCIL OR THE GENERAL FACULTY.

F. ITEMS REFERRED BY THE PRESIDENT TO THE PROVOST FOR REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION.

D 8456-8458 Proposed Revisions to the Departmental Budget Council Constitution and Authority in the Handbook of Operating Procedures. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 3, 2010. The secretary has classified this as general legislation. It was approved by the Faculty Council at its meeting on November 15, 2010, and transmitted to the president on November 16, 2010. On November 22, 2010, President Powers asked Dr. Steven Leslie, Mr. Kevin Hegarty, and Mrs. Patricia Ohlendorf for written recommendation regarding the legislation. Final approval resides with the UT System.

D 8459 Proposed Change to the System Faculty Advisory Council Representatives from UT Austin in the Handbook of Operating Procedures. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 3, 2010. The secretary has classified this as general legislation. It was approved by the Faculty Council at its meeting on November 15, 2010, and transmitted to the president on November 16, 2010. On November 18, 2010, President Powers asked Provost Leslie for written recommendation regarding the legislation. Final approval of this legislation resides with the president of the University.

D 8460 Resolution from the Faculty Rules and Governance Committee Regarding Conferral of Degrees. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 3, 2010, and approved by the Faculty Council on November 15, 2010. Transmitted to the president for his consideration on November 16, 2010. On November 22, 2010, President Powers asked Dr. Steven Leslie, Mr. Kevin Hegarty, and Mrs. Patricia Ohlendorf for written recommendation regarding the resolution and its recommendation “that at the Spring Commencement Ceremony the Faculty Council’s delegation of this approval or disapproval to the deans be announced by the Faculty Council chair prior to the presentation of the candidates for graduation by the deans.” Final approval of this legislation resides with the president of the University. Upon approval, an informational copy will be transmitted to UT System.
