MINUTES OF THE REGULAR FACULTY COUNCIL MEETING OF
October 31, 2011
I. REPORT OF THE SECRETARY.
Secretary Sue Greninger (human development and family sciences) greeted everyone and reported that new information had been received regarding a few legislative items and therefore the written secretary’s report (D 9138-9148) needed updating. Secretary Greninger noted that the faculty voting rights legislation had been returned with no action taken by President Powers because of language issues that needed clarification.1 Secretary Greninger said there were several proposed curricular changes largely from liberal arts and fine arts that had been approved by the UT System office, which would be soon noted on the Faculty Council website. She asked if there were any questions about the report, and there were none.
1Following the meeting, the president’s office said the legislation had not been returned to the Faculty Rules and Governance Committee, but President Powers would take no future action until the committee answered questions about the legislation that have been addressed to its chair, Professor Dean Neikirk (electrical and computer engineering.
