The motion was approved by the Council at its meeting on October 31, 2011, and transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on November 2, 2011. On December 21, 2011, the proposals were approved and transmitted to UT System. On January 30, 2012, UT System granted final approval.

The motion was approved by the Council at its meeting on October 31, 2011, and transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on November 2, 2011. D 9176 Proposed Changes to the “Grades” Policy in the General Information Catalog. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 9, 2011. This legislation has been replaced by D 9496-9497.

Proposed Changes to the College of Education Chapter in the Undergraduate Catalog, 2012-2014. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 10, 2011. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review (CUDPR) recommended approval of the changes on November 9, 2011, and forwarded the proposals to the Office of the General Faculty. The Faculty Council considered each proposal on a no-protest basis with deadlines referenced below by classification. On December 21, 2011, the proposals were approved and transmitted to UT System. On January 30, 2012, UT System granted final approval for both the exclusive and the general legislation list below.

D 9214 Proposed Revisions to the Language Concerning the Election of the secretary of the General Faculty in the Handbook of Operating Procedures. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 16, 2011. The secretary has classified this as general legislation. Approved by the Faculty Council on November 28, 2011. Transmitted to the president on November 29, 2011. In a letter dated December 5, 2011, the president’s office requested written recommendation regarding the legislation from Provost Leslie and Vice President Ohlendorf.  On December 9, 2011, Vice President Ohlendorf recommended approval.On December 21, 2011, Provost Leslie recommended approval. On January 17, 2012, the proposal was approved by the president and transmitted to UT System. On January 30, 2012, approval was received from UT System. The Council endorsed the resolution at its January 23, 2012, meeting. Final approval resides with the Faculty Council with formal notification to the president.

D 9351 Nomination for the 2011-2012 Faculty Council Chair Elect Replacement.  Posted on the Faculty Council website on January 12, 2012. On January 23, 2012, the Council elected Professor Martha F. Hilley (music) to serve as chair elect replacing Professor Alba A. Ortiz (special education) who will retire from UT effective Auguat 31, 2012. Final approval resides with the Faculty Council with formal notification to the president.
