STATUS OF LEGISLATION APPROVED BY THE FACULTY COUNCIL OR THE GENERAL FACULTY.

C. ITEMS UNDER REVIEW BY THE TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION COORDINATING BOARD—None.

D 8905-8920 Proposed Changes to the College of Fine Arts Chapter in the Undergraduate Catalog, 2012-2014. TThe items listed below were posted on the Faculty Council website on August 24, 2011, on a no-protest basis with a protest deadline of September 3, 2011. The Secretary has classified these proposals as legislation of general interest to more than one college or school. A protest was received against these items in the Office of the General Faculty; however, on September 8, 2011, the protest was withdrawn, and the proposals were transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president. The proposals were subsequently approved by the provost and transmitted to UT System on October 17, 2011. On November 3, 2011, approved by UT System and transmitted to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Final approval resides with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  • Delete Music Business Major from Bachelor of Music (D 8905-8909).
  • Delete Recording Technology Major from Bachelor of Music (D 8910-8914).
  • Add Emphasis for Music, Music Business, and Recording Technology to BA in Music (D 8915-8920).
D 9429-9433 Request to Add a New Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience Degree Program in the College of Natural Sciences Chapter in the Undergraduate Catalog, 2012-2014. Posted on the Faculty Council website on January 19, 2012. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review (CUDPR) recommended approval of the change on January 18, 2012, and forwarded the updated core curriculum course list to the Office of the General Faculty. The secretary has classified this proposal as legislation of general interest to more than one college or school. The Faculty Council approved the changes on a no-protest basis on January 30, 2012. The proposal was transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on January 31, 2012. On February 21, 2012, Vice Provost Gretchen Ritter transmitted the legislation to UT System recommending approval. On March 12, 2012, UT System approved the legislation, which was subsequently transmitted it to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Final approval resides the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
