STATUS OF LEGISLATION APPROVED BY THE FACULTY COUNCIL OR THE GENERAL FACULTY.

D 9286-9291 Proposed Changes to the Bachelor of Architecture/Bachelor of Arts, Plan II, Dual Degree Program to the School of Architecture Chapter in the Undergraduate Catalog, 2012-2014. Posted on the Faculty Council website on December 15, 2011. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review (CUDPR) recommended approval of the changes on December 14, 2011, and forwarded the proposal to the Office of the General Faculty. The secretary classified the proposal as legislation of general interest to more than one college or school. The Faculty Council approved the proposal on a no-protest on January 9, 2012, which was subsequently transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on January 10, 2012. On February 15, 2012, Vice Provost Gretchen Ritter transmitted the legislation to UT System recommending approval. On March 27, 2012, UT System granted final approval with formal notification to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

The secretary has classified this proposal as legislation of general interest to more than one college or school. On February 29, 2012, the Faculty Council approved the legislation on a no-protest basis. On March 1, 2012, the proposal was transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president. On March 21, 2012, the provost transmitted the legislation to UT System recommending approval. On March 28, 2012, UT System granted final approval.

D 9544 Report of the Committee to Nominate Voting Faculty Members to the Undergraduate Studies Advisory Committee. Posted on the Faculty Council website on March 15, 2012. To be acted on by the Council at its meeting on March 19, 2012.

D 9545-9546 Report of the Committee to Nominate Faculty Members for Appointment to the Intercollegiate Athletics Councils for Men and for Women, and to the University Co-op Board of Directors. Posted on the Faculty Council website on March 15, 2012.  On March 19, 2012, the Faculty Council approved the slates, which were transmitted to the president immediately following the Faculty Council meeting. On March 21, 2012, the president notified the secretary that Professor Steven Goode had been appointed to serve on the Co-op Board of Directors for a four-year term beginning September 1, 2012, and lasting through August 31, 2016. On April 10, 2012, the president notified the secretary that Professor Kevin Foster (educational administration) had been appointed to serve on the Intercollegiate Athletics Council for Women, and that Professor Ben Carrington (sociology) had been appointed to the Intercollegiate Athletics Council for Men; both faculty members have been appointed to serve a four-year term beginning September 1, 2012 and lasting through August 31, 2016.

D 9547 Report of the Committee to Nominate Faculty Members for Appointment to the University of Texas Police Oversight Committee. Posted on the Faculty Council website on March 15, 2012. On March 19, 2012, the Faculty Council approved the slate of names, which was transmitted to the president immediately following the Faculty Council meeting. On April 10, 2012, President Powers appointed Edmund T. (Ted) Gordon (anthropology) to serve as a faculty representative on the Police Oversight Committee for 2012-2015.
