MINUTES OF THE REGULAR FACULTY COUNCIL MEETING OF
MAY 6, 2013

IV.
REPORT OF THE CHAIR.

Chair Hilley said 2012-13 had been an interesting year where much had happened, much had been accomplished, and much still remained to do. Because there was still work to do on issues facing the University, she announced that the June 17, July 15, and August 19 summer meetings would remain scheduled in case business needs to be conducted. She added that Council members would be notified of cancellations well in advance, if meetings were not needed.

Chair Hilley thanked Secretary Greninger for her service to the University and lauded her for the quality of her minutes by describing them as “like sitting down and having a conversation with one of your best friends.” She then presented the secretary with a parting gift for her impending retirement, a desk clock inscribed: “Sue A. Greninger. You’re the best!” Secretary Greninger thanked everyone and said she wouldn’t miss preparing the minutes, but she would definitely miss the people.

Chair Hilley noted that there would be some changes to the order of the meeting and indicated that the report of the chair elect would be deferred until after new business had been completed.
