CHANGES IN MEMBERSHIP OF THE FACULTY COUNCIL.

Effective the first class day of the fall 2012 session, Professor Diana DiNitto (social work) replaced Professor Jeffrey C. "Chipps" Smith (art and art history) who resigned from the Council.

Effective the first class day of the fall 2012 session, Professor Matthew S. McGlone (communication studies) replaced Professor James R. Yates (educational administration) who retired from UT Austin on August 31, 2012.

Effective the first class day of the fall 2012 session, Professor Lynn R. Wilkinson (Germanic studies) replaced Professor Mark I. Alpert (marketing) who went on phased retirement effective August 31, 2012.

Effective August 1, 2012, Vice President for Student Affairs Gage E. Paine replaced Juan C. González (educational administration) who returned to teaching in the College of Education after serving seven years as vice president for student affairs.

Effective July 15, 2012, College of Natural Sciences Dean Linda A. Hicke replaced Professor David A. Laude (interim dean and chemistry and biochemistry) who has been appointed to serve as senior vice provost of enrollment and graduation management.

Effective June 1, 2012, School of Law Dean Ward Farnsworth replaced Professor Stefanie A. Lindquist (interim dean).

Effective September 1, 2012, Professor Lawrence (Larry) Abraham, associate dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies, was appointed interim dean of the school. Dr. Paul Woodruff, the inaugural dean, returned full-time to his faculty position in the Department of Philosophy.

Effective the first class day of the fall 2012 session, Professor Thomas M. Hunt (kinesiology and health education) replaced Professor Jacqueline C. Henninger (music) who is teaching overseas during the 2012-13 academic year.

James L. Hill, senior vice president and special assistant to the president, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, in Austin at the age of 84.
