STATUS OF LEGISLATION APPROVED BY THE FACULTY COUNCIL OR THE GENERAL FACULTY.

ITEMS COMPLETED SINCE THE LAST REPORT.

D 10188-10192 Proposal to Align Affiliated Studies Credit with Reciprocal Exchange Credit so that All UT-Approved Study Abroad Programs Have the Same Academic Characteristics. Posted on the Faculty Council website on February 7, 2013, and classified as general legislation.  On February 18, 2013, the Faculty Council approved the proposal, and it was transmitted to the president on February 19, 2013. On April 19, 2013, the president’s office requested written recommendation regarding the legislation from Executive Vice President and Provost Steven Leslie and Vice President Patricia Ohlendorf.   On April 25 ,2013, Provost Leslie recommended approval. On September 3, 2013, Vice President Ohlendorf recommended approval. On September 5, 2013, President Powers transmitted the proposal to UT System recommending its implementation. On February 27, 2014, UT System granted final approval.

D 10328-10329 Proposed Change to General Information Catalog Language on Simultaneous Majors Policy as Approved by the Educational Policy Committee. Posted on the Faculty Council website on April 22, 2013, and classified as general legislation. On May 6, 2013, the Faculty Council approved the proposal, and it was transmitted to the president on May 7, 2013. On May 9 , 2013, , the president’s office requested written recommendation regarding the legislation from Executive Vice President and Provost Steven Leslie and Vice President Patricia Ohlendorf. On May 16, 2013, Provost Leslie recommended approval. On September 3, 2013, Vice President Ohlendorf recommended approval. On September 5, 2013, President Powers transmitted the proposal to UT System recommending its implementation. On February 27, 2014, UT System granted final approval.

D 10723-10726 Proposed Changes to the Law School Catalog 2014-2016. Posted on the Faculty Council website on October 29, 2013, and classified as legislation of exclusive application and of primary interest only to a single college or school. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review recommended approval of the changes on October 23, 2013, and forwarded the proposal to the Office of the General Faculty. On November 4, 2013, the Faculty Council approved the legislation on a no-protest basis, and it was transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on November 5, 2013. On November 8, 2013, Executive Vice President and Provost Gregory Fenves transmitted the proposal to UT System recommending approval. On January 15, 2014, UT System granted final approval.

Posted on the Faculty Council website on January 2, 2014, and classified as being of general interest to more than one college or school.  The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review recommended approval of the changes on December 11, 2013, and forwarded the proposals to the Office of the General Faculty. On January 17, 2014, the Faculty Council approved the legislation on a no-protest basis, and they were transmitted to the provost on behalf of the president on January 20, 2014. On January 30, 2014, Provost Fenves transmitted the legislation to UT System recommending approval. On February 19, 2014, UT System granted final approval.

D 11365 Resolution in Support of the Texas Memorial Museum. Posted on the Faculty council website on February 13, 2014. On February 17, 2014, the Faculty Council endorsed the resolution and forwarded it to the president for his information. No further action is required.
