LEGISLATION UNDER REVIEW BY THE FACULTY COUNCIL.

Update to the Core Curriculum Course Lists for the Undergraduate Catalog 2014-2016. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 8, 2013, and classified as legislation of general interest to more than one college or school. The proposed changes to the core course lists were reviewed and approved by Undergraduate Studies Advisory Committee during its meetings on May 20, June 3, August 22, September 17, and October 24, 2013. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review recommended approval of the changes on November 6, 2013, and forwarded them to the Office of the General Faculty. The Faculty Council will consider the legislation on November 18, 2013. Final approval resides with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Proposed Changes to the College of Liberal Arts Section in the Undergraduate Catalog 2014-2016. Posted on the Faculty Council website on November 12, 2013, and classified of exclusive application and of primary interest only to a single college or school. The Committee on Undergraduate Degree Program Review recommended approval of the changes on November 6, 2013, and forwarded the proposals to the Office of the General Faculty. The proposals are being put to the Faculty Council on a no-protest basis. A voting member of the Faculty Council who wishes to protest any one of the proposals must file an objection with reason with the Office of the General Faculty by November 19, 2013. If no objection is filed by the deadline, the Faculty Council will consider the legislation to have been approved. If an objection is filed within the prescribed period, the Faculty Council will consider the proposal at its meeting on December 9, 2013. Final approval resides with UT System.
