Each year University Ladies Club awards three scholarships to students who are graduates of high schools in the Austin area and have achieved academic excellence. These scholarships evolved from the Lucille Taylor Moore Loan Fund established in 1935 to support local students in financial need. This support of the University is made possible by donations and memorials given by the members. Donations may be made using the following form.

Dear Mrs. Chenevert,
I am honored to be one of this year’s recipients of the Unrestricted Endowed Presidential Scholarship, and I wanted to say thank you for your generous support.
I have just completed my third year at The University of Texas, where I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in honors finance and accounting. In addition to my business interests, I have also engaged quite actively the fields of art history and art administration while at UT.
I hope to one day combine these interests by playing the part of donations consultant for a major museum or museum consortium somewhere in the United States. Now, with the resources available to me at The University of Texas and the support of the University Ladies Club, I am confident I will find success in these pursuits.
Thank you again for supporting UT’s current and future leaders. I look forward to being able to help longhorns in the same invaluable way you do in the future.
Sincerely,
Kyle Robertson

Dear Mrs. Chenevert,
I am a recent recipient of the ULC Centennial Endowed Presidential Scholarship and would like to thank you for this financial assistance. I am really honored to have been selected from so many wonderfully qualified students and am eternally grateful for your consideration in this distinction.
I am an entering senior this fall and will be graduating in May 2010. I am an Honors Psychology major and Spanish minor and I will begin applying to graduate programs this semester. Currently, I am a research assistant in Dr. Jacqueline Woolley’s children who have been abused or neglected. My volunteer participation in the lab and Helping Hand Home led me to choose a specialization in children’s reaction to trauma and abuse. However, I also have a strong interest in Health Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling. I am a team member of Texas 4000 for Cancer and in summer of 2010, I, along with 50 other team members, will be riding my bicycle from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska in the longest charity ride in the world to raise money and well as families who have been personally affected by the disease. While researching graduate schools, I am keeping this interest in mind as well, and although I have not yet made a final decision, my interests have always been consistent in helping others, particularly children or patients with significant adversities.
Not only is this scholarship a significant financial relief, I cannot adequately express how honored I am to be selected as an official recipient from among such a large body of qualified students. Thank you again for awarding me this prestigious distinction and greatly appreciated financial assistance.Sincerely,
Brittany Kinard
