Visiting our Undergraduate Programs

There are a variety of ways prospective students can visit the Department of Art and Art History. Your experiences with our admissions team can range from a group presentation at a University-wide open house event,  to an individualized itinerary to shadow a current student. We encourage you to review the options below before planning your visit to campus.

INFORMATION SESSIONS
Information sessions are held on most Monday and Friday to provide a prospective freshmen and transfer students with a general introduction to the department. Information sessions are held in the afternoon so they can be paired with a morning university tour and information session from the Office of Admissions. ADMISSIONS EVENTS
Department admissions events range from University-wide open house events sponsored by the Office of Admissions, to one-on-one interactions with our faculty to gain portfolio feedback. View our upcoming admissions events

INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENTS
Individual appointments for prospective freshmen and transfer students may be scheduled Monday-Friday. Depending on the availability of our faculty and student ambassadors, individual appointments may include the opportunity to sit-in on a class, gain portfolio feedback, or a tour of the department. Individual appointments are intended to help you explore our programs in an in-depth way, but do not factor into the admission decision process. To inquire about an individual appointment, contact:

GROUP VISITS

Group visits to the Department of Art and Art History are available for students in grades 8-12* or community college, for groups of 75 or fewer guests. Department representatives are available to provide information about our academic programs, admissions, and tour studio facilities in the Department of Art and Art History. Group visits may also include activities with the Visual Arts Center and Blanton Museum of Art if scheduled through these organizations. *If your group is in middle school, please understand that we do not have a team outreach staff assigned to work with this age group. Please contact us to explore other programming options through the university Visitor's Center.
