A History of Failure: A Conversation between Lisa Cohen and Ann Reynolds

Cohen and Reynolds read from recent work and have a discussion moderated by Chelsea Weathers.

Lisa Cohen teaches nonfiction writing, as well as courses in modernism and gender and sexuality studies in the English Department at Wesleyan University. She is the author of All We Know: Three Lives(Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2012). Her work has also appeared in The Yale Journal of Criticism, Vogue, and , among other publications. Her current book project addresses the intersections of grief, biographical writing, and the history of medicine.

Ann Reynolds teaches art history and visual culture at The University of Texas at Austin. She is the author of Robert Smithson: Learning From New Jersey and Elsewhere (MIT Press, 2003). Her current book project, In Our Time, addresses intergenerational creative communities in New York from the 1940s to the early 1970s through their shared cinematic experiences.
