Video Game by Design MFA Wins IndieCade 2012 Official Selection

Track+Feel

The experimental 8-bit video game TRACK+FEEL II by Rachel Weil (MFA student in Design) was recently named an IndieCade 2012 Official Selection. IndieCade has been called "the video game industry's Sundance," and each year it recognizes independent video games from around the world at its annual festival in Los Angeles, CA. Weil's TRACK+FEEL II was shown on October 6 as part of the festival's open-air Night Games event.TRACK+FEEL II, which runs on a 1980s video game console called the NES, allows players to dance and create music while exploring the intersections of pixelated retro gaming, femininity, cooperative gameplay, and generative program glitching.
