Department Scholarships for Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students

Scholarships for incoming freshmen from the Department of Art and Art History are competitive awards based on the review of applicants' portfolio, essay and resume. All applicants are candidates for scholarship; no additional application is required.  The department's admissions committee awards merit-based scholarships that typically range from $500–$5,000 per year, a limited number of out-of-state waivers and matching community awards, such as the O'Donnell Foundation award for AP Arts. The committee also nominates candidates for the Texas Exes 40 Acres Scholars Program. Scholarship recipients are notified in late-February (Freshman) or May (Transfer). Students who complete the FAFSA by March 15 will also be considered for need-based awards, grants and loans from the Office of Student Financial Services (UT FAFSA Code: 003658).
