Incoming Freshmen
You should apply to The University of Texas at Austin as a Freshman if you:
- Have or will soon graduate from high school or receive a GED, and
- Have not enrolled in another college or university after graduating from high school or receiving a GED

- Have graduated from high school or received a GED, and

Change/Addition of Major
Currently enrolled or former UT Austin students who are interested in changing major to or adding a simultaneous major in the Department of Art and Art History must become familiar with the University's rules on Transferring from One Division to Another within the University and must adhere to these rules and meet all other departmental application requirements by the stated deadlines.

Former Student
If you are a former UT Austin student who was last an undergraduate major in our department, you will need to complete an Application for Readmission as a Former Student with the UT Austin Office of Admissions.

Degree Holder
Applicants who have never attended UT Austin but have already completed an undergraduate or graduate degree elsewhere, and are interested in applying to one our undergraduate degree programs, will apply to UT Austin as an undergraduate transfer student.
