Summer Development Report
Thanks to your help as donors, advocates and friends, the College of Fine Arts has realized an extraordinary fundraising year! COFA has raised almost $21 million for the current fiscal year, which ends August 31, 2013. This is the second highest fundraising total in the history of the college, eclipsed only by the high of $54.4 million that we received in 2008-09. (That year, council members Ernest and Sarah Butler made their legacy gift to name the Butler School of Music.)
The major boost to this year’s fundraising comes from a $15 million anonymous planned gift, plus the success of several key initiatives including the Menuhin International Violin Competition, the Texas Talent campaign, and a matching gift incentive to increase endowed chairs in the college. We also enjoyed a record-breaking number of individual gifts to the college, along with a marked increase in new donors.
Our development successes are a direct result of our Advisory Council’s energetic efforts on behalf of our students, faculty and programs. For this, we are most grateful.
Thank you again for all that you do for the UT College of Fine Arts, and I hope to see you on September 20th in Austin for the fall meeting!
