Playwriting, 2005) new play, “Computer Simulation of the Ocean”, does not have a physical venue, rather, it is experienced entirely through a text message subscription that lasts six months. The text messages come from Sally Boyd, a fictional character. The public will begin receiving messages on April 18 at the beginning of the Fusebox Festival.

Jennifer Chenoweth Creates 3-D Emotional Map of Austin

Jennifer Chenoweth's (M.F.A., 1999) collaborative project, "Hedonic Map of Austin," is a 3-D interactive display that maps emotional experiences throughout Austin. The installment is being displayed in the southeast entrance of the Seay Building for psychology from now until August.

Marcia Green Santore Curating Exhibition: MOMMA

Marcia Green Santore (B.F.A. Studio Art, 1982) is curating the exhibition MOMMA at the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. The show features four artist-mothers (including Santore) and explores themes of motherhood from the visceral, to the emotional, to the intellectual—responding to a society that sentimentalizes mothers but does not always respect them. In conjunction with the exhibit is a screening of the documentary film about artist-mothers, Who Does She Think She Is, on March 10 followed by a panel discussion with Santore and some of the other artists from MOMMA. The show runs March 3 - April 11.

Catherine Rogers Published in Gettysburg Review

Catherine Rogers (M.F.A. Playwriting, 1993, Michener Fellow) has published her short story “After Three Tangos” in the Gettysburg Review Spring 2014 issue. She recently returned to the U.S. from her second Fulbright fellowship in Greece (2009, 2013). At Aristotle University Thessaloniki and in Athens, Rogers led the workshops “Understanding Illness and Trauma through Narrative” with students, physicians and health care professionals, artists, writers, and fellow Fulbright alumni. She is currently an M.S. candidate in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University.

As CEO of the Ariana Institute for Wellness and Education, Vincent and her company are thrilled to present the first installment of the Ariana Institute's massage manual series. This series includes seven full-length massage manuals that are designed to help deepen the knowledge and understanding of current massage therapists and introduce new, interested parties to the world of massage and bodywork.

Hicks (D.M.A., 2009) has been appointed Director of the Emerging Artist Program for the Green Mountain Opera Festival for the 2014 season and stage director for The Rape of Lucretia for the 2014 Festival season. In May of 2014, Alan will direct The Turn of the Screw for the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Alumna Natalia Anciso featured in solo exhibition in San Francisco

Galeria de la Raza

Natalia Anciso, MFA (BA, Studio Art, 2008), will have a solo exhibition at San Francisco's Galeria de la Raza titled "Studio 24 Presents: Natalia Anciso." She will be the third artist in the "Studio 24 Presents" series, following in the footsteps of established artists, Rio Yanez and Viviana Paredes. In addition, her work will be featured prominently on Galería’s Bryant Street 10 ft. x 24 ft. billboard. Much of this exhibition will focus on her experiences as well as histories of her native Rio Grande Valley. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 7pm and will run until February 14, 2014.
