Interested in traveling to the east or west coast to investigate arts administration jobs?
For students interested in exploring career opportunities outside of Austin, the New York Seminar and University of Texas Semester in Los Angeles (UTLA) give participants the opportunity to learn about the arts and entertainment industry from working professionals.
New York Seminar
The New York City Texas Exes and UT Colleges of Communication, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, and the School of Human Ecology present the 12th annual NYC Seminar. Travel to New York over spring break to visit major cultural institutions, discover career options in performing or visual arts administration, and experience life in the Big Apple! As part of the NYC Seminar, undergraduates will be able to participate in up to eight office visits, a welcome dinner with the New York City Texas Exes, and a networking reception with office visit hosts and New York City Texas Exes.
In the past, arts administration visits have included organizations such as the Lincoln Center, Public Theater, BMI, Americans for the Arts, chashama, The Guggenheim, Symphony Space, IMG Artists, Weill Institute at Carnegie Hall, Atlantic Theater, Roundabout Theater and Museum of Arts and Design. Attendees will also have time for individual meetings and interviews at the conclusion of the NYC Seminar.

In addition, the College of Fine Arts has graciously provided 10, $500 travel grants for the New York Seminar 2015. To apply. please print out the application materials below and deliver them to the Fine Arts Career Services office, DFA 1.103. Washington DC Seminar
Fine Arts Career Services is excited to announce the first ever DC Seminar! Travel to Washington DC at the end of the semester to visit major cultural institutions, discover career options in arts education and advocacy, and experience life in the nation's capital! As part of the DC Seminar, undergraduates will participate in office visits, a welcome dinner, and multiple networking events with area alum.
Potential office visits include Critical Exposure, Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Museum of American History, Wolftrap, and many more!
