2014 AP* FINE ARTS INSTITUTES
Four days of classroom instruction led by top College Board approved instructors on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

AP* MUSIC THEORY (combined)
Led by Dr Terry Eder, Plano, TX.
Over 30 years experience teaching music theory at various levels; past 12 years nearly 85% of his students score 3 or above on the College Board* exam; exam reader; serves as member of the music theory development committee for the College Board*; eleventh year conducting this Institute at UT-Austin.
This Institute features "combined" participation, with both experienced and new AP* Music Theory teachers welcome.
INTRODUCTION TO AP* STUDIO ART PORTFOLIOS
Led by Jane Harlow, Rogers, AR
One of the nation’s most experienced AP* studio teachers (25 years); served as a portfolio reader and College Board* “Consultant” for over 20 years; co-authored the vertical team guide for AP* studio; serving on the current committee for revising that guide; was AP Arts Director for the O’Donnell Foundation’s AP* Strategies; 1995 “National AP Studio Art Teacher of the Year”. Jane has recently retired to Arkansas.
This Institute is for middle school and high school art teachers who are new to AP* Portfolios. This training will cover aspects of all three College Board AP* Portfolios: Drawing, 2D Design, and 3D Design.
ADVANCED TRAINING in AP* STUDIO ART PORTFOLIOS
Led by Patricia Winnard, Bethany, OK.
This Institute is designed for experienced high school AP* studio art teachers who have previously guided students through the College Board processes.
MEALS AND SUPPLIES
Lunches are included for all four class-days. Lunches are served in the Thompson Conference Center cafeteria. The Thompson Center is three blocks from the ART building, so participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.
Some supplies will be provided and participants will receive lists of recommended items to bring from home.
Free parking is available in an assigned lot east of the Thompson Conference Center on Red River. The ART building is three blocks from the Thompson Center and nearly five blocks from parking. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and rolling art supply carrier is advisable.
