Visual Arts Center presents Lunch Break film by John Baldessari

| Event Title: | Visual Arts Center presents Lunch Break film by John Baldessari (More Information) |
|---|---|
| Event Description: | Lunch Break is a series of lunchtime films, screened at the Visual Arts Center (VAC) to offer campus-wide faculty, staff, and students a little midday cinematic respite. Bring a brown-bag lunch (drinks provided) and join us for a variety of films sure to stimulate conversation throughout the rest of your day. For this edition of Lunch Break, the VAC presents John Baldessari’s series of shorts entitled The Way We Do Art Now and Other Sacred Tales. In keeping with Baldessari’s conscious miscommunication and well-known pun making, this collection contains a series of parables concerning modes of representation, language, and cognition. With episode titles such as Insincerely promising a cat a carrot, Some words I mispronounce, and Examining three 8D common size 2 1/2 inch nails: how they are the same: how they are different, Baldessari both questions and spoofs what constitutes art. |
