The Early Music Ensemble presents "Bach & Friends: Eine deutsche Reise" Travel through Germany's courts and chapels with the music of D. Buxtehude, G. Muffat, and G.F. Handel. Experience two generations of the talented Bach family with works by Johann Sebastian and his son, Carl Philipp Emanuel. Visit the miniscule Lilliputians, the giant Brobdingnagians, the well-mannered Houyhnhnms, and the untamed Yahoos with G.P. Telemann's Gulliver's Travels Suite for violin duo. Settle in Munich with Italy-born E.F. Dall'Abaco's Ciaccone from his Concerto Op. 6. Come enjoy the works of these composers and leave with a new understanding of what seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Germany sounded like.
Webcast will begin streaming a few minutes before the performance. Visit the Butler School of Music website to listen.
