Presented as part of Creativity in the Face of Death: The Contemporary Resonance of Terezín, a three-day symposium featuring music and dance performances, photo exhibitions, and panel discussions exploring the enduring influence of music and art created by prisoners at Terezín, the “model ghetto” created by the Nazis near Prauge in late 1941. All of the works featured in this program were written by composers who were interned at Terezín and ultimately put to death at the hands of the Nazis. Their music, however, survived. According to Maestro Hope, “What these artists have written…
