MENUHIN COMPETITION AUSTIN 2014
Founded in 1983 by famed violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin, the Menuhin Competition is the world’s leading international violin competition for players up to the age of 21. Held every two years in a different host city, the event combines a violin competition with a festival of concerts and events. In 2014, The University of Texas Butler School of Music hosts the first-ever competition in North America. Texas Performing Arts is proud to include the opening and gala performances of the Menuhin Competition as part of our 2013-2014 season.

The Menuhin Competition Austin 2014 closes with a spectacular gala concert featuring The Cleveland Orchestra. Last appearing in Austin in 1976, The Cleveland Orchestra has become one of the most sought-after performing ensembles in the world and is considered one of the most important orchestras in the United States. In concerts at Severance Hall, the Blossom Festival, residencies in Miami and Bloomington, and on tour around the world, The Cleveland Orchestra remains committed to the very highest standards …
