Careers in Theatre and Dance
The Department of Theatre and Dance is comprised of 350 undergraduate and 85 graduate students, a largely tenure-track faculty of over 50, 10 full-time staff, and offers a range of baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degrees. It is housed in well-equipped facilities, which include a black box, proscenium, and lab theatre, teaching and practice spaces, and state-of-the-art design and computing labs. The department is one of four programmatically integrated units of the College of Fine Arts, including also Art and Art History, Butler School of Music, Landmarks and the Texas Performing Arts, which provides the production facility and much of the staff for departmental productions. The college comprises 2,000 students, nearly 200 faculty members, and as many staff members, and teaches courses in fine arts to virtually every undergraduate in the university.
There are two available faculty positions in the Department of Theatre and Dance: a Non-Tenure Track Position in Technical Direction and Theatre and a Tenured/Tenure-Track Position in Voice and Speech.
