Tonya Pinkins: Performance Creation Workshop

The College of Fine Arts Diversity Council Guest Artist Initiative and Department of Theatre and Dance welcome Broadway and television actress, author and educator Tonya Pinkins for a three-day residency. In the Performance Creation Workshop, participants collaborate in groups to create a five-minute drama on writing a period of history.

This workshop is open to students of the College of Fine Arts and African & African Diaspora Studies Department. 

Tonya Pinkins: Lunch and Dialogue

The College of Fine Arts Diversity Council Guest Artist Initiative and Department of Theatre and Dance welcome Broadway and television actress, author and educator Tonya Pinkins for a three-day residency. At this lunch, Ms. Pinkins will continue the ongoing dialogue about careers.

It is open to students of the College of Fine Arts and the African & African Diaspora Studies Department.

Tonya Pinkins: Mother Courage and Questions for Herstory

The College of Fine Arts Diversity Council Guest Artist Initiative and Department of Theatre and Dance welcome Broadway and television actress, author and educator Tonya Pinkins for a three-day residency. Recently, Ms. Pinkins made the news when she left the Classic Stage Company’s production Mother Courage and Her Children in response to the production’s framing of race and gender. She remains a incisive critic of race as it relates to cultural production. For this session, she will join faculty of the Performance as Public Practice to discuss her critique, its effects and her ambitions for the theatre.
