Held on the world-class campus of The University of Texas at Austin, Texas Musical Theatre Workshop (TXMTW):

Connects talented high school students with top musical theatre artists from Broadway and musical theatre faculty from UT Austin and Texas State University.

This summer’s Broadway artists include:

  • Andy Einhorn (Broadway MD and Conductor: Cinderella, Sondheim on Sondheim, Light in the Piazza
  • Michael Maresca (Actor/Vocal Coach; National Tours: Mamma Mia!, Saturday Night Fever
  • Mary Anna Dennard (Guest Speaker for Parent Session: Nationally-recognized College Audition Coach) 
  • Danny Herman (Actor/Choreographer; Original Broadway Cast: Contact, Leader of the Pack
  • Rocker Verastique (Actor/Choreographer; 4 Original Broadway Casts, 4 National Tours: Contact, Chicago, Miss Saigon
  • Lisl Vaillant-McDonald (National Tours: Phantom of the Opera, Stars of the American Ballet Theatre

Offers outstanding pre-professional training in acting, singing, dancing, auditioning and performing to prepare high school students for college auditions and careers in musical theatre.

TXMTW alums have been accepted to AMDA, Baylor, Carnegie Mellon, CCM, Emerson, Florida State, Millikin, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma University, Pace, Point Park, SMU, Texas Tech, UArts, UNCSA, UT Austin, University of Utah, Webster... and the list is growing!

Fosters the development of new musicals and inspires the next generation of musical theatre composers, writers, directors, and performing artists.

Last summer’s featured new-musical-in-development is a new work by the Tony-winning creative team behind URINETOWN, Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann. Participants went behind the scenes to watch rehearsals and attended a staged reading of their new “UNTITLED ZOMBIE MUSICAL.”
