Register to Audition

An audition is required for admission to this program. 

*The B.F.A. in Acting is not open to transfer students. 

How can I audition?
There are three ways to audition. Please choose ONE of the following: 

  • Online audition Acceptd (Due by Dec. 1) 
     
  • Live audition on the UT Austin campus. 
  • Live audition at a regional conference/festival, followed by an on-campus callback on January 30, 2016.

November 22 Greater Houston Area Auditions (Houston, TX)

November 23 Greater San Antonio Auditions (San Antonio, TX) 

November 24 South Texas Auditions (Pharr, TX (Event Link))

*December 3-5 Texas Thespians Conference (Dallas, TX) 

*January 28—31 TETA Educational Conference (Houston, TX)

*Please note that applications to The University of Texas at Austin are due by December 1, regardless of the audition date you plan to attend. 

What should I prepare for an audition?

Two contemporary, contrasting monologues totaling two minutes in length from published play scripts. Audition requirements for regional conferences/festivals will vary.

Important Information and Deadlines

The B.F.A. in Acting admits incoming freshmen, only. All applicants must submit their ApplyTexas applications by December 1. The Department will only consider applicants who list our majors as a "first choice." Applicants may check the status of their application and update their selections through their MyStatus page. 

All applicants to the B.F.A. in Acting will be considered for the B.A. in Theatre and Dance sould they not be admitted to the B.F.A in Acting.
