Important Information and Deadlines

Freshmen Applicants

1.  Applicants must begin the ApplyTexas application before registering to audition (you will need your UT EID). The Department will only consider applicants who list our majors as a "first choice".

It is critical to submit the university application, along with all supporting documents, by the UT Austin deadline of December 1. Applicants may check the status of their application through their MyStatus page.

2.  Register for a live audition through the Department Application or submit an online audition through Acceptd (please do not complete both). Department Applications and online audition submissions are due by December 1, or three days before an intended live audition.

Applicants will automatically be considered for the B.A. in Theatre in Dance should they not be admitted to the B.F.A. in Acting.

Transfer Applicants

The B.F.A. in Acting is a four-year sequence of training. Regardless of the coursework you may have pursued with another institution, this program expects students to progress through the curriculum with the ensemble group they are admitted into. For this reason, we recommend transfer applicants consider the flexibility of the B.A. in Theatre and Dance, rather than the rigid structure of the M.F.A. in Acting.
