Los Angeles-based artist Ry Rocklen converts collections of Austin-found artifacts, including used carpet, fans, wind chimes, and photographs into a magical site-specific work titled ZZZ’s.

Curated by Department of Art and Art History faculty member Dr. Andrea Giunta and former faculty member Dr. Roberto Tejada, Glaciers is a solo exhibition by Mexico-based artist Magali Lara that commemorates markers in the histories of Argentina and Mexico through imagery derived on Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia, Argentina.

The Long Hello is an exhibition of the large-scale, topsy-turvy, sumi ink drawings collaboratively created on the walls of The Arcade during the Sumi Ink Club's first meeting in Austin, as part of the VAC's Grand Opening Celebration weekend.

Center Space Project, the student organization of the Visual Arts Center, presents Unveiled, a massive group exhibition of seventeen artists featuring work that deals with the theme of transparency, whether in process, medium or content.

Deconstruct + Reconstruction is a group exhibition featuring eight artists who forge new modes of artistic practice through the act of dismantling and then reconfiguring materials.
In Spring 2010, New York artist David Ellis worked in the VAC’s Vaulted Gallery on a “motion painting” commissioned by Landmarks, the public art program at the University. The resulting video will be on permanent display in the Art Building beginning in September 2010.
